Day 10 » Your most romantic date.

It started a few days or a week before the actual date. I haven't seen him in a while and so i was really surprised to see him when he came to pick me up after class. As we were walking out of the building, the "harana" started. After he dropped me off in my dorm, that's when he asked me to be his date in a formal dinner party their dorm was having.

The formal dinner was a blur. He picked me up, brought me to the place. We ate dinner and danced a lot. I don't remember now if he was in a suit or a barong. But i remember wearing this tight red velvet dress i borrowed from a friend. I learned a few years later that due to that, his friends would refer to me a his "lady in red".

This date was nowhere near my idea of a perfect date. Quite a number of items were missing. But i guess in terms of "kilig" factor, this would be my #1.

to my best friend

15 years ago, our fathers, who were both very proud but probably bored of having to accompany their daughters through high school enrollment, were the first ones to strike up a conversation with each other. and that's when i met her. she gave me a big smile and i immediately felt at ease with her. i knew i met my first friend in high school. we have been through so much together. moments that were full of laughter, some with tears. we had our share of fights and misunderstandings. but in the end, she has always been there for me. and she has been a better friend to me than i have been to her. i cried when she had her first boyfriend. and i cried on her wedding day. i was afraid things would change and they did. but she will always be one of my best friends. i love her and i miss her every day. thank you for always being there for me in the last 15 years, faye! and here's to 15 more years (and more) of friendship.

as you prolly noticed, i have been looking forward to my birthday (umm.. let's count how many blogs i made related to it...). obviously, i wasn't excited about getting old. i was actually very much excited to the celebration i have been wanting to have for years. and last night, it finally happened. :D my "party" was held in the Top Grill restaurant in Jupiter Street, Makati. i chose it because it was near and seems accessible, and when i was there once, i noticed that their prices are not that steep. the food isn't bad at all, and they also have videoke. only you would have to sing on the stage! :D i really really wanted to invite a lot of people. but there were still budget constraints since (as you know) i have no savings whatsoever, and i also need to keep some money because i will probably be moving again (which will cost about 3-months worth of rent). i'm really sorry about that. i originally had a guest list of about 50 people, and i counted 29 attended last night. it was too bad though that lots of people couldn't make it, and some even canceled the last minute (too bad since i could have invited more people if i only knew... :P). by the way, you guys would still HAVE TO make up for it (paging Jonas, Novis and Tami). hehe! :P but anyway, i am really really thankful to all that came. my birthday has really been special because you were all there with me. my favorite moment was when everyone sang "happy birthday" when the clock struck 12mn. it was expected, but it was still special when it happened. thanks so much again! :'D

someone needs to start using the videoke and sing on stage. but no one was gonna do it first. so i requested Oliver to do it with me. and after that, the dam was wide open. :D me with my best and longest friends. my birthday "loot". the gift from J has gone missing though. waah! i'm sorry. i wonder where it went. :(

overall, i'd say the party was a success. most of the people i wanted to be there were there. there seems to be enough food and drinks for everyone, and still i didn't go over budget. i had so much fun and i hope everyone else too. and by the end of the night, i was wasted. :P see you all again next year. :) more pics will be available in my multiply site soon. check them out. :)

first blog of the year!

which is already a month late. but since i want to blog about new things, yet i feel guilty about skipping stuff i was about to blog about, and i just finished the document i and everyone in my team has been laboring over for 3 weeks, and it is already 2am and i have a meeting at 10am... i am doing this the quick way and get it over with! so here comes a barrage of picture posts. hope you like pics. :D ------------------------------------------------- December 18 Our office Christmas party, which was the most fun one I've had yet. Four days before the party, we decided to turn it into a costume party! Can you guess who we are? :D (L): The J2ME team, (R): Everyone! ------------------------------------------------- December 19 The day after the party, i was on a leave due to my friend Richie's very persistent request to go out of town. So we went to The Farm in Lipa, Batangas. We barely have pictures of us, but i have a lot of pics of the place. It was very pretty. (L): Over there by the pool is where i got my massage, (R): The lagoon. They had a postcard of this for sale, so i had to took a picture too. ------------------------------------------------- December 22 was Faye's church wedding. The reception was in Nurture Spa, Tagaytay. I told Faye before that i will make a detailed blog about her wedding. I will still do that, but this is my teaser! :D (L): with my pisay girlfriends, (R): with my college barkada ------------------------------------------------- December 27 and January 2 Leo was getting married so a few days before that, we had dinner to catch up before he becomes "un-single". Then i had to take a leave again to attend his wedding which was held in the Guadalupe church, while reception was at the Coconut Palace in Manila. (L): SAL SAs with single Leo, (R): SAL SAs with the couple Dawn and Leo ------------------------------------------------- January 2 and 3 Faye was leaving for Australia again! And we just cannot let her go without a proper goodbye. After Leo's wedding, i met up with Faye and our pisay friends.
